How To Save Your Sanity And Your Mental Health

When is the last time that you actually got out on your own and did something by yourself?

When was the last time you did something that you wanted to do?

Well, that’s what this topic is all about.

Taking control of your mental health, not being afraid to speak up and say hey look, to your significant other if you have one, I’d like to go do something on my own today, you know, especially if you’re a beach lover like I am or you like to be near the ocean and you want to get out amongst the fresh air, sunshine and the clouds and just feel the breeze. Taking control of your mental health and your well-being.

You just want to smell that salty air.

Then you have to tell that other person and say, “Hey look, I love you, but I need some “me” time. I need to get out and be on my own for a little bit just to be able to think and to clear my head and to maybe just enjoy the time alone”. For my mental health.

Now I know there are people that are afraid to go and do things by themselves and I get it.  Sometimes that’s a phobia about being afraid to get outside by yourself.

But if you’re not and you’re just sort of doing what your partner wants you to do all the time then you’re going to be miserable.

I hate to say it but if your partner is always leading you to where they want to go and what they want to do and then you give in and say “okay” well, that sounds sort of cool, maybe I want to go and do that.

Then you go somewhere like the beach and let’s say you just want to go look for seashells, right?

But your partner says, “That’s boring!”  I want to go fishing.

I want to charter a boat and go fishing.

You then have no choice but to respond, “Well…alright”.

  • But you don’t fish…you see what I’m saying?

So then you’re in paradise, but you’re miserable as hell because you’re not getting to do anything that you want to do.

I think everybody deserves alone time.

I think you deserve to go do what you want to do.

You deserve to get outside with mother nature.

You deserve to go do your thing.

If you’re a man, then you deserve to go fishing by yourself or go hunting by yourself.

You just deserve that alone time and you need it.

It’s vitally important.

I think it’s something that would save your sanity because in this mad world of ours if you don’t get out if you don’t have an escape route to relieve some of the anxiety and fear and just the mad rush of everyday life…you will go nuts!

You will go stir-crazy…you will even accumulate more anxiety and pressure.  Plus, God help us that your blood pressure goes up then you might have a stroke or heart attack!

Do you get it?

Some people are like LOL, I’ll do these things when I retire, you know, I’m just going to wait until I retire, and then I’ll go to the beach.

I’m thinking, “Come on man!”

Come on.

How do you know you’re going to live until the day you retire?

Let me tell you something, my mom didn’t make it until retirement.

She died at age 55 from an aneurysm in her brain.

Okay?!

So how do you know you’re going to make it past 55?

And if you’re already there congratulations, how do you know you’re going to make it to 65?

So I’m just here to tell you you got to live your life and you got to enjoy it to the max!

When you get a day off of work, you go to the beach.

You tell your spouse or your significant partner, “Look, I love you, but I’m splitting, this is my day.  I’ll see you at 5 or whenever I come back.  I’m enjoying this sunny day.  I’m going to go out and collect seashells by the seashore”.

You know that old saying…

She sells seashells down by the seashore??

I just want you to be.

Just be you and just do what you want to do to save your sanity in this mad cruel world.

I think we all need , especially in this day and age with everything going on.

That’s if you’re serious about taking control of your mental health and your well-being.
