Benefits and Examples of Daily Affirmations

We talk to ourselves every single day, all the time.  The person that is right now saying, “I don’t talk to myself” is in fact talking to themselves at that point.  What are you saying though?  Is it good, bad, or indifferent?  All too often the dialogue internally is not the most positive or serving you to show up as your best self.  This is where daily affirmations can create a huge wave of momentum and make sure you are changing that narrative.  I coach all my clients to develop and employ daily affirmations for the following reasons.

Improve Health

Studies have proven over the years that people who think positively feel better and live longer than those who don’t.  You get to choose what you want to think and how you feel.  One of my favorite quotes by Lao Tzu is “Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny”.  All of that started with your thoughts, so plan out the correct thoughts and words, to begin with.

Increase Confidence

Hardwiring begins before you have a long-term memory.  Some of those hardwires are positive and others negative.  Positive affirmations help to create the best version of yourself and disregard the self-limiting beliefs that others have put upon you.  Tell yourself that you are confident, strong, and capable and you are much more likely to embody those beliefs.  Hard wires were put in place over many years, so it won’t happen overnight but the daily practice will eventually win out.

Inspire You

The definition of an affirmation is the assertion that something exists or is true.  Positive affirmations help us focus on the good in our lives instead of the negative.  Failure no longer exists but rather is a chance to learn and try new things.  We all want to be inspired in life, why not do it for ourselves.  Create your affirmation today and inspire yourself and those around you by showing up as the best version of you.

Examples of daily affirmations:

  • I am strong, I am confident, I am capable.
  • My body is healthy; my mind is brilliant; my soul is tranquil.
  • Positivity is a choice; I choose to be positive.
  • I am happy, I am generous, I am successful.
