3 Keys to Overcome Self-Limiting Beliefs

There are 3 keys to overcoming self-limiting beliefs.  I try to eliminate the word hate from my vocabulary because hate is negative and non-productive in my opinion.  However, when it comes to this subject, the hate is real.  I believe that so many amazing things could be accomplished if we could eliminate self-limiting beliefs.  The world would be a better and happier place.  I realize we don’t live in a utopian society and these beliefs will continue but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.  So, for the next 300 words or so let’s transcend and work on overcoming our self-limiting beliefs.  These 3 keys will be helpful in this endeavor.

#1 Self-Limiting Key: Find your WHY

This subject has been talked about for a long time, about following your dreams or “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life”.  So why don’t more people do it?  I believe that most don’t spend the time to find out what they truly love or what their purpose is.  The fortunate few in this world just seem to know their purpose and pursue it with reckless abandon.  For the majority of us, it takes thoughtful time and attention to quiet the outside world and really seek what our why is.  Meditation, journaling and a solid amount of alone time (hours to days) can help in this pursuit.

#2 Self-Limiting Key: Trust your Gut

How many times throughout our life have you heard the expression “Just trust your gut”?  The gut instinct also known as “intuition” is defined as the ability to understand something immediately.  There is no need to overthink it or search out another opinion because you just know.  Human beings instinctively want to succeed in life and be happy but we have become conditioned to listen to others’ thoughts and opinions as to what we should do.  Trust yourself as you truly know what’s best for you.

#3 Self-Limiting Key: Check your Ego at the door

There is a basic human need to fit in and be accepted.  To live up to the expectations placed upon us by others and achieve a certain status.  Your ego can feed into worrying about what others think and trying to impress them.  One of the most selfless acts is to stop worrying about what other people think and to start being exactly who you are.  It is that moment of “checking your ego at the door” that you can rise above fully and show the world what you are capable of.

The idea of transcending in life can be overwhelming.  The three tips to rise above our self-limiting beliefs can be challenging at times and in need of constant attention.  However, the payoff is so sweet when you are fulfilling your life’s passion and doing what you were meant to do on this earth.  The good news is that everyone can do it and it simplifies life tremendously.  Give it a shot and let’s all go transcend in life!
